Over 100 students and professionals made their way to the Department of Recreation and Park Admnistration on September 15, 2016 for the 7th Annual Kentucky Recreation and Park Society (KRPS) Colonel District meeting! We are proud to say that we had 71 students join KRPS from this meeting!
Friday February 12th was a day that will live on forever! The Recreation and Park Administration Department held their annual 4-square tournament at the campus recreation building. We had a total of 4 courts going at a time with upwards of 60 participants.
The Colonel Outdoor Recreation Experience (CORE) just completed two wilderness orientation trips for incoming first years students. The trips led 14 incoming freshman (accompanied by 4 trip leaders and 2 orientation leaders) on a journey aimed at making the transition form high school to college less stressful.
The first week of classes are always a bit challenging, so what better way to take the edge off, than with some pizza and water balloons! Last week Dr. Ryan Sharp and three trip leaders from Adventure Programs took a group of incoming freshman on a 3 day, two night backpacking trip to Big South Fork National Recreation Area in southern Kentucky. The group hiked, swam and became friends during their time in the outdoors.
