Inside Look

Alumni in Action: Jessica Mayse, CTRS

Transferring to EKU in 2004 was a big decision. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life. I thought the Therapeutic Recreation degree sounded pretty interesting, so I made the move from Lexington to Richmond and began my 3 year journey at EKU.

Alumni in Action: Geoff Roberts

Geoff Roberts, a Recreation and Park Administration Masters of Science alum, graduated in August 2011. He is an outdoors fanatic and calls bass fishing his number one hobby. That’s where you’ll find him on a nice day when he’s not working: on the water. Bird watching and camping are other outdoor favorites of his.

Kickball Challenge 2011

The second annual RPA Kickball Challenge was held October 21, 2011. It was a gloomy day, but spirits were high amongst all in attendance. The Undergraduates, led by team captain Dan Eastham, took the field first, allowing the Graduates/Faculty/Alumni (G/F/A) to kick first. It was a slow start for the G/F/A. They trailed the Undergraduates the entire game, but rallied in the last inning.

REC 480 Field Trip

In late September, the REC 480 class led by Dr. Sharp took a field trip to Sheltowee Trace Outfitters, a family-run business that rents outdoor adventure equipment and also provides guides and shuttle services if needed. Dr. Sharp arranged this field trip so his students could see a well-run program first hand.
