As a graduate from the Master’s program in Recreation & Park Administration, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be back in the classroom and to share my enthusiasm with students. The experience I’ve gained from being an adjunct faculty member in the department has not only allowed me to aid in student achievement and success but has also helped in my own personal growth as well. I have always had a passion for education and the students in the RPA department really help ignite that passion with their excitement and eagerness to learn.
I am currently working on completing my doctorate. In fall of 2011 I started the Educational Leadership Ed.D program here at EKU and have loved every minute of it! I consider myself to be a lifelong leaner so taking classes and working towards completing my doctorate is a huge goal and ambition of mine.
I also love spending time with my husband, Zach. We’ve been married almost five years now but have been together for about eight. We currently do not have any children, but we consider our two miniature dachshunds, Scout and Duke, to be our kids. They are as much a part of the family as everyone else. In our free time together Zach and I love being outdoors. Whether we go hiking, camping or fishing as long as we are outside we can have fun. Another passion we share is traveling. We’ve been on a service trip to Costa Rica, cruised the Caribbean and visited many of the continental states. Learning the culture and history of the places we visit is something we both love and as a testament to that we got married on the beach in St. Augustine, Florida—the oldest city in America. Looking ahead we are hoping that our next big travel adventure might be to Ireland!
A few of my hobbies include traveling, hiking, camping, gardening, being outdoors, exercising, cooking and spending time with my husband.
